Surely you too have felt utterly bored before—and who knows, maybe even right now. Finding something that ignites passion and crushes boredom is perhaps the hardest task a human can face. Is there a clear solution? Many would say, “just escape!” They’re always chasing the end, the exit. People often think of suicide and saying goodbye to the world. But can we really call that a solution? Especially when, if we simply wait, we’ll be elegantly ejected from the world by natural death anyway—so we might as well rule that one out.
To say that there’s nothing to gain from being alive might sound cruel… It’s true that trying to find something that warms our mind usually just reveals our hunger for change. But that very hunger for change is what gives life its human meaning.
I know a pigeon that never stopped flying…
A cat that never got tired of wandering the alleys…
An ant that never once said, “I’m exhausted”…
And a bee that’s still making honey to this day…
But humans… these cool creatures! They only know one thing: change. All animals are perfect examples of living. So what about us?
Neither I, nor you, nor anyone else truly knows the purpose of this existence. Though God Himself has said, “I do nothing in vain.” And He also said, “All creatures are worshipping Me.” And when we observe creatures, we see that they all act according to their instincts.
“Everyone calls you to themselves—
But I call you only to yourself.” (Rumi)
With this verse, I’ve summed up everything—ready to be used. Do the thing you were created for. That’s it.
Now, I, you, and everyone else knows we must be exactly as we are.
